Viewing Associates' Time Off Balances

When salaried associates request time off in Workday, the manager will receive an Inbox task to approve. To view the associate's time off balances before you approve, just click the View Balances button in the task message. You can also view time off balances for associates by going to their profile page and clicking Time Off on the left side of the page. Then click the Time Off Balance tab at the top.

Viewing Future Time Off Balances

Want to know how much time off an associate will have accrued by a particular date in the future? Click the Actions button on their profile page (or next to their name in the My Team Management worklet). Select Time and Leave, then View Time Off Balance and select any date.

Trouble with Absence Requests in Workday?

There are several reasons why associates might have trouble requesting an absence or time off in Workday:

  1. Hourly associates: Hourly associates are not able to submit time off requests in Workday at this time.
  2. Salaried associates: If the salaried associate does not have sufficient time in their time bank, they cannot submit time off requests.
  3. SYGMA drivers: Although SYGMA drivers are salaried, they are not able to submit time off requests in Workday.

See the Time Off Requests job aid to learn more.

Time Off Requests

Remember, only salaried associates (except SYGMA drivers) can request time off through Workday. Managers will receive requests in their Inbox and can approve, deny or send them back for changes. Use the Team Absence worklet on your Workday home page for easy access to reports and tasks for managing team absences. See the Time Off Requests job aid to learn more.

Workers on Leave

Plan ahead to ensure adequate coverage when team members go on leave! The Workers on Leave Report lets you view associates who are scheduled for leave during a designated period of time. Be sure to check the “Include Workers Returned from Leave” and “Include Pending Events” boxes to view all activity during the requested timeframe.
